So. To continue. In July of 2020, I was diagnosed with Lymphedema, which is a chronic condition that is treatable but not curable. I have it in both legs. Lymphedema is a result of the lymphatic vessels failing to drain excess fluid, therefore causing swelling. Treatment generally consists of manual lymphatic drainage (massage), compression therapy (stockings and bandages), skin care, exercise, and proper diet. I go to a certified lymphedema therapist for my massages on a regular basis. I do my best to stay on top of it all.

Catching Up…part 2.
Covid. What a horrible time. The illness, the isolation, the fear, the deaths.
At the time COVID hit the United States, me Mum had been in a nursing home for almost 3 years. We were unable to visit her beginning in March of 2020. She had deteriorated quite a bit mentally, so we did not know how much she comprehended the lack of visits from her daughters. On June 19, we were notified that she was doing very poorly. The nurses felt she was close to death. It was not COVID…but it was her time. We were able to visit, so we took turns keeping watch over her. She was not aware that we were there. On June 29, Mum passed peacefully.
I miss her. I think of her always. I often expect the phone to ring…to hear her voice. It does not happen, of course.

Catching Up.…part 1.
Silly me. I guess it will take a bit of time so I will tackle one subject at a time.
Probably the first thing that you want to know is about son Matthew. He is still battling his cancer. He is working and enjoying life as much as you can as one who has stage four metastatic colon cancer. He’s being very strong, but then, how can he not?
The exciting part is that he got a dog! He rescued Moxie from a shelter in Louisiana. Told that she is a hound mix, it turns out that she is mostly Boxer! I must say, though, that she looks more like a Lab mix… and acts like a Labrador!
“🐾✨ One year ago today, Moxie came crashing into my life—and not a moment too soon.
At the time, I was struggling. I needed something good, something positive, something that would actually be excited to see me walk through the door. Moxie became all of that and more.
She’s been my reason to smile on the rough days, my companion on the good days, and the reminder that even when life feels heavy, there’s always room for joy (and puppy chaos).
Of course, let’s be real—she’s owned the couch, the recliner, and the bed since day one. I just pay the rent at this point. 🛋️😂
Here’s to year one with my four-legged shadow, partner in crime, and best decision I made in a long time. Can’t wait to see what year two brings. 🐶❤️
(December is when her birthday is, one year ago today is when I got her/rescued her-she rescued me)“
I give you his words only to show you what a gift he knows he has received in Moxie. They make quite the pair!
Please keep Matthew in your prayers…for continued strength in fighting this battle.

I’m Back!!!!!!!!
Yessirree! I am back! Funny story…I have not had any interest in writing blog posts for more than a few years. For no special reason. The other night, I was telling an old friend - with whom I had lost contact - that if she wanted to know what I had been up to, she should read my blog. Well, later that evening, I read some of the posts I had written over the years…and I decided that I wanted to write again. Perhaps no one will find their way to this blog, but I am really writing for myself. If you are here and reading this, I welcome you.
In my next posts, I will catch you up on what has transpired in these last few years.
