How Many Parts Will It Take to Catch Up...Part Three

ohboy...this is difficult to handle...3 posts in 4 days!!!

I neglected to post about one very important happening...Princess Kaylynn had a birthday in May!  She is now 12 years old.  That is impossible, I say!  She and her family took a special vacation to DisneyWorld...

Princess Kaylynn and I are on snapchat often.  I sure miss her!
Looking forward to seeing my grandchildren when I visit Wisconsin in a few months.

And, so that we are completely caught up, here is a peek at my scrappy pineapple quilt.

I have been sewing blocks into rows...6 of 7 rows done.  Need to put that last row together, then I will sew the rows together to have a completed quilt top!!!

And, that's it for today!

How Many Parts Will It Take to Catch Up...Part Two.

Wow, would you look at this...here I am again...so soon!  Woohoo!

Now, just where was I?

OH!  I made one final pineapple block...

The small square in the center is from yardage that Joanne (see the fabric here) gave me years ago...I had made Tag a quilted pad with it.  This little square was about all I had left.  The Chocolate Puppy. Tag.

Okay, now let's move on... to more family news.  Two of my nephews (hmmm, I guess they are my only nephews) had babies within the last few months.  And, both of those nephews are in service to our country!  Proud of them!

Here is Baby Alex...

And, here is Baby Jackson...

How precious, hey?

Before the scrappy log cabin blocks and the scrappy pineapple blocks, I made this quilt.  Dana of Old Red Barn Co generously shared how she made her quilt like this.  I love it...and it's what got me on the scrappy quilt-making path.

I bought some succulents...love these babies!

I have shopped online and I have shopped at my LQS...and I have gotten gobs of fabric!  Some of it to finish up WIPs and some to start new projects with.  Ohboy.

Someday, I hope to have this all used up (she said, laughing hysterically!).

Well, I think that's all the most important stuff.  ~grin~

Perhaps, now that things are settling down, I'll be able to get back into the habit of writing a blog post at least once a week.  My hope, anyway.

I am on Instagram...kelonie is my user name.  I always post photos there.

Bye for now.  See ya soon!

How Many Parts Will It Take to Catch Up?

Well, I am definitely feeling like a total stranger here on my own blog.  Time to make myself sit here and do some catching up.

First of all, there have been some major changes with me Mum. Julie is no longer her caregiver.  I lived with Mum for 5+ weeks while we were deciding what was going to happen next.  I am not sure how Mum felt, but I definitely treasure that time together.

After much discussion of several different options, we all agreed that a nursing home was the next step for Mum.  And, yes, 'we' includes Mum. So, we were able to get her into our first choice of the nursing homes here in Canon City.  Mum is slowly making the adjustment.  It doesn't help that her hearing aids seem to have gone kaput at this time, but we are working on that issue.

There are a ton of activities that Mum can take part in.

Here are some recent photos of Mum at Skyline...

playing BINGO...

outside in front of the nursing home...mountains as her backdrop...

playing cards with me and Jill...

And, that is that...in a nutshell.

My goddaughter/niece, Jody, came for a visit with her daughter, Kalyn.  They live in Los Alamos...about 4 1/2 hours from here.  We all had a great time!

I didn't get much sewing done when I was with me Mum, but I have some projects to show!  Working with my scraps, I made 25 log cabin blocks.  Here is a small representation...

I have a plan to put them together in a fun way.  Stay tuned (but don't hold your breath).

Right after I finished those blocks, I started another scrappy project...this time, making pineapple blocks.  Those were very time-consuming, but I loved making them.  All 49 of them!
And, here is a small representation of them...

Okay, that's it for Part One.  So much more to show you...I'll be back to do that very soon!  I promise!
