What a Mess!

It's not like it was a spur of the moment decision.  I had been thinking about it all week long.  At least for this one past week...perhaps longer.

I am feeling cramped in my living space.  Mostly when I want to sew, or cut some fabric.  It seems as if when I want to do something sewing related, I need to move something in order to do what I want.  I have been getting a bit frustrated with that entire process.

Plus, I need to get my light table set up so that I am able to trace the rest of the Snow Days stitching (on the pieced blocks) and there is no place to set it up and leave it set up while I take a few weeks to get these tracings done.

So.  Yesterday, I decided to move some furniture around and reorganize my fabrics (doll clothes vs quilty and everything else).  I pulled a shelf unit out of the bedroom and into the dining area.  I moved the furniture in the living room to make more room (so I could bring out the shelf unit).  I pushed my dining area table up against the wall.  This is where I'll do my sewing.  I emptied out my closet...well, mostly.  Probably about half emptied out my closet.  And, then I quit.  Here's what I had when I went to bed (slept on the sofa, which is very comfy, by the way).

ohyeah, and I also got out my pc because I need to transfer some photos from it to my laptop.

So, this week is set aside to get everything rearranged to make my life easier.  That does depend on how thorough I am when sorting through this mess.  ugh.  Hoping I get done sooner rather than later.

In the meantime.  I finished this carrycot (fabric doll bed).  It measures about 15 x 8 x 5 and includes the carrycot, mattress, pillow and quilt.  It will go into my Etsy shop for my business, The Chocolate Puppy.

What do you have planned for this week?

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.". Jeremiah 29:11

How nice that you got all of that done. I bet you will be able to work better once you have a place for every thing.
I wish I could tell you I had plans this week. For the first time all summer I don't and it feels nice to not have any.
Just doing normal sometimes is a breath of fresh air.
I hope you have lots of time for sewing this week.

Ooooh! That carrycot looks nice and comfy! I like the fabric too! Good luck with the organizing... it will take time, but feel better in the long run...

I am glad you made some space for yourself. I find that I cannot get motivated to sew if I have to clean up the mess around me, lol. I was all set to store the excess in the basement so I could move around and find things, but my daughter moved back in and killed that idea;)

The hassle will be sooo worth it. It's always nice to have a functional, well organized space and you are well on your way!
