Just Plain Lazy...

I haven't gotten very much done lately.  Not.  At.  All.  I'm hoping that I'm not being lazy...that what I am feeling is just plain overloaded/overwhelmed.  You know what I'm talking about...when there is so much to do that ya just cannot settle down to do any one thing?

I did get a few things done since my last posting.  Really had to push myself to do them, though.  That's not like me...nothing I like better than to put the music on and sit and sew.  Perhaps that's it...with another person in the house, not only is the distraction level high (which is not all bad, ya know), but I'm just not as free to do whatever I want whenever I want.  You know.

But.  I did mange to make this cute little coin purse.  I made it for Julie to match her lime green purse.  She was having a bad day and I thought it might bring a smile to her face.  It did not.  So, since my baby sister (Jill, who just moved to Colorado) has been complaining (read whining) that her sisters receive more handmade items from me (which, by the way, is not true), she's going to get it.  She loves it.  This little coin purse was easy-peasy to make and the tutorial can be found here.

And, I made this 13x21 inch remote/phone/scissors/pen holder for me Mum.  To hang over the arm of her chair.  I made it up as I went along and am pretty happy with how it turned out.  Two of the pockets were specially made to  accommodate the thicknesses of the remote & phone.  I'm not sure how to explain it, and you sure cannot see it on the photo...but the pockets expand to accommodate the depth of the remote and the phone.  Pretty slick, methinks.

Unfortunately, all of the arms on my chairs are too big and round to model this, so I'm hoping you can imagine it hanging rather than laying flat on my table.  {grin}

It's Friday, which means pizza night is finally here...YAY!

I hope to work on several projects this weekend...perhaps I'll be very productive (don't hold your breath) so there will be something to show you.

Have a great weekend!

Well I think the coin purse is great and the thing you made for your Mom, I wondered what you had been up too. I was thinking about you this morning and wondering about you, seeing that it is different for you with someone else in the house, makes me feel not so bad, I have always just thought I must be so lazy.
It is distracting to have other people around.
I hope you have a great weekend.
Hugs.

How eloguently you put into words what I have been feeling. Love your latest projects, the little change purse looks like one I almost purchased today, a Vera Bradley, but at $16.00 I put it back on the shelf. Enjoy your pizza night and have a great weekend! Julie.

I was just going to send an email requesting my sisters and daughter to update their blogs and I checked yours and you already did ! Why was Julie not cheered up by that darling coin purse? She didn't want it and is letting you give it away? Wow.
Waiting patiently for my items to be completed and mailed.
Two totes and a coin purse right?

You got more done, than I did, lol.
I made a couple of stitchery pieces, still have to finish them, but too tired at night to do much.

I can totally relate to that horrible distracted feeling. I think I officially have acquired ADD from this move. And change always brings a bit of the downer feeling...at least for me! Your two sewing projects are swell! But then, I love all of your sewing! My tote has been put to good use as my go-to tote for day to day. I just love it.
Hope inspiration blossoms again soon!
Hugs,
