The Sun Has Set...

on Allegra's life.
After not being able to get much food in her
& after watching her go through 3 neuro episodes this morning,
- each one worse than the one before -
I made the decision to euthanise Allegra.

It wasn't easy.

In fact, it was one of the most difficult things I've ever done.

I've been worrying and stressing
about this for the last several weeks.
Knowing it was coming...praying I'd be ready.

Didn't matter if I was or not.
Allegra very clearly let me know that it was time.

Thank you all so much for your support, caring,
prayers & good thoughts.
I haven't been very good at replying to your comments.
Please forgive me.

And know that you are much appreciated.

Oh Jacque, I'm so sorry to hear about this. I know we all wish they could just pass in their sleep...it would be so much easier on US.
Take comfort in the fact that you gave her a marvelous and rich life....know I'll be thinking of Tag, also and knowing how he must feel as well.
Love you,
Tammy

Julie called me this morning and gave me the very sad news. When I read your blog I cried, thinking about how difficult it must have been for you to watch her suffer and then have to make this decision. I was just so happy to see that she had been a little better when I was there for my visit. I will be thinking of you today. If you feel like talking, give me call. Joyce

Jacque, I am so very sorry for the loss you're suffering. Allegra was so beautiful. I do believe that dogs have lovely souls and help teach us about eternal, unconditional love. Please know that her love and trust in you never failed. If you could ask her, she'd tell you that she knows you did what was in her best interest. Hugs and blessings.

Jacque ~ I've been gone and was catching up on my blog reading. I am so sorry about your doggie ~ it had to be incredibly hard to let go of that beautiful pet. Know that your online friend is thinking of you and feeling your pain. Take care ~

Oh, Jacque, I am so, so sorry to hear of Allegra's passing. That is really the very hardest thing in the world to do, but you must know it was the right thing for Allegra. She's playing with Tango, now -- well and happy in her new world. I'm thinking of you and wishing the pain away.
