Getting It Done...

After losing last week to headaches, I was really looking forward to getting some things done this week.  Luckily, no headaches have descended upon me, so I have been fairly productive yesterday and today.

  I finished this little quilt...
and listed it in my Etsy shop here.  I rather enjoy making little quilts...they are quick to make and  it's (almost) instant gratification.  Also because, ya know, they're so dang cute.

I started working with the new doll dress pattern that I purchased from Bonnie at mybonbonboutique.  I made a dress for Aubrey (my 14" Waldorf doll).  I thought blue would go well with her hair...

Isn't that just too cute?  The dress is a medium, and just a tad big for Aubrey, but she's so happy to finally have a dress that she has not noticed.   (I've got the dress snugged up quite a bit in back, so it looks as if it fits her better than it actually does.)

(Please excuse her hair...Kaylynn was playing with her and got a bit rough, methinks.  Aubrey definitely needs a new hairdo.)

And, I made this for sister Joyce to gift someone...

Do you know that, with all the Kleenex cozies I've made, I don't have one for myself?  Isn't that funny?  I have made over 100 of these things (I'll bet the number is closer to 200)!   And still, not one for me!  ~grin~

I'm not sure what I'll be working on for the next few days, but I have my list in plain sight, so I will keep focused.

Kaylynn is coming for an overnight this weekend.   That makes me very happy.

What are you up to this week?

Quick Gifts...

Baby sister Jill needed
gifts for her coworkers.
Something I could sew.
Something quick and easy.
I made a dozen of these for her...
kleenex cozies.
The tutorial is here...
I've made these before...
most recently for sister Joyce.
I blogged about it here.
Quick and easy.
Takes just minutes to make one.

Big plans for the weekend.
Not sure I'll be able to
show anything, though.
All in due time.

End of the Week...

I am very happy that the weekend is here.
Seems to have been a very long week.

I took several packages to the
Post Office earlier this week.
A couple of giveaway packages,
a bee block, some fabric and
a few surprise packages.

One of the surprise packages contained these...

Kleenex cozies!
11 of them, in fact.
Sister Joyce had sent fabric (see it here)
and requested some kleenex cozies.
There you are, sis!
They are so fun and take almost no time at all to make.
I used the same tutorial I've used before...
found here.

That is all I have done in a week...
no other sewing at all.

Can you believe that?

I did, however, make plans for a baby quilt.
Here's the fabric I'll be using...
'Lily & Will' charm pack plus yardage
and Kona cotton solid in Natural.

Oh!
Miss Kaylynn will be here tomorrow
for an overnight.

I may be posting photos of her visit.

Have a great weekend!

FINISHED!

It doesn't quite matter what one starts, does it?  Isn't it all about what one finishes?

I don't really know the answer to that, but gosh, it sure seemed like a good lead-in to this post, which is all about what I finished this weekend.

Ready?  Here you go...

1.  Started & finished.  A reversible apron for Jesika (DIL)...she bought the fabric in January and has been waiting patiently.
2.  Started & finished.  Apron for Jasmine (granddaughter)...just because.

3.  Started & finished.  A kleenex cozy for a friend who loves dots.  I also made one for Sylvie in France...my placemat quilt swap partner.  (yeah, I know...no travel-size kleenex package in it.  Don't worry, there will be when I send them out.)

4.  Finished both placemats for my placemat quilt swap...I'll show them once I know they've arrived in France.

5.  Finished reading the novel Blood Vines by Erica Spindler.

6.  Started & finished.  Hemmed a pair of scrub pants for a coworker, but I didn't take a photo.  Cuz, you know...scrub pants.  If you've seen one pair, you've seen them all!  {grin}

7.  Started & finished.  Bathed Tag E. Butt.

I think that's everything!  Well, besides the normal, everyday sort of things like fixing meals and taking showers and talking on the phone and doing dishes/laundry, etc., etc....you know.

And, for those of you who are wondering if the synvisc injection had any effect...I think that it did!  My knee doesn't hurt nearly as much as it has been.  I was told to not expect much until after the second injection, but it really does feel better.  So.  We shall see, hey?

Quilt Received!

Julie's quilt arrived at her mailbox in Durango last Saturday...so I can finally show it in all its glory here!  I think it ended up to be about 76 inches square after washing.

She called me while she was opening it...and cried.  I liked that.  When giving gifts to my sisters...my goal is to make them cry.  {grin}

She also received the kitty blankets I made way last fall...see them here...2 pillowcases (one is shown on the photo above) and a matching kleenex cozy.  She was very happy, which made me very happy.
