Is That Your Final Answer?

YES!

Remember, back in January when I was having difficulty deciding on a quilt pattern to make me Mum a quilt for her bed?  Well, I thought I had it all figured out.  I wrote about it here.  I even made a practice block to make sure I could get out of that jelly roll all the blocks I would need.  Yet, here the fabric strips sit...
Aren't they pretty?

I haven't done anything else.  Why?  Well, I had no clue.  Until now.  Lately, me Mum has been talking about getting a twin bed.  Though the quilt I was going to make would look okay on a twin bed, I had designed the top to fit a double bed.  It would look okay on a twin.  In my opinion, just not as good as the size it was designed for.  Know what I mean?

So.  I am going back to one of my original ideas.  I am going to make a postage stamp quilt.

Remember this one I finished in September of 2011?
I love this quilt...it is so comfy and old-fashioned looking.  My sister, Jill, took one look at it and had to have it.

I also made this one, though it's not finished...

I think a postage stamp quilt will be perfect for me Mum...and it won't matter what size bed she has.

Though I have a few other things I need to work on right now, I am going to try to get this started this weekend!

Stay tuned!

Almost There.

I am a bit bummed that I didn't get to the fitness center today...too much snow.  It started out slowly, but what there was accumulated in front of my garage door.  Ended up to be about 2 feet of drifted snow right there so I couldn't get out of the garage.  Rescheduled for tomorrow.

I'm on vacation this week, so am working on my list.  I've been moving things around the last few days...fabric out of office into 3rd bedroom, sewing machine out of sunroom into office and, of course, everything else that goes along with it.

I was able to get a bit of sewing done today.  I have one more side to sew a border on.  Then, to decide if it all needs another small border.

Took this photo the other day...it's Nugget (lives in the barn) walking outside along the window ledge.  He had been sitting there for a bit of time, just watching me.  When I got up to get the camera, he decided to leave.  It's a good thing Tag didn't see him...there would be a huge hole in the window.

Donations NEEDED!

Any size, any amount, lump sum, monthly payment.  Whatever works best for you.

Yeah.  So.  I went for my first visit to the fitness center yesterday.  Nice!  I did some cycling and then some strength stuff...worked my back, my lats, my bis, my tris, my blah, blah, blah.  Today was the appointment to have my body assessed.  ha!  What a  hoot!  Actually.  They're kinda mean.  The fitness place.  They signed me up with a young hot hard-bodied boy!  To assess me.  How unfair.  Mike...an EMT/volunteer fireman (just like my son).  Just adorable.  And, by the way, has PSALM 91 tattooed on his left forearm (not the entire psalm, but the words, 'psalm 91').  Made me smile even more!  Anyway.  I totally left my inhibitions at the door, so the hour with Mike was more fun than embarrassing.  It was also very interesting.  I learned a lot, did a lot and was pleasantly surprised to hear that I am more flexible than he thought I would be.

Okay.  The donations.  Needed!!!  So that I can have Mike be my personal trainer.

I am just kidding.  Well, I do want a personal trainer, but it's very, very expensive.  So, I'll pass.  For now.  Until I strike it rich.  Or, win the lottery!

Must leave something for you to look at...
so here's a photo of my current project.

if you don't, check this out.

so.

Cathy was having a destash sale a week ago.
i, of course, wanted it all.
i, of course, did not get it all.
but, for what i received...
we wheeled and dealed.

she drives an awful hard bargain!
{grin}

actually, she made an offer
that i absolutely could not refuse.
part of the offer was that she asked me to
put together a quilt top for her.
i am so excited!
and honored!

her payment to me for doing it?
some of the above fabric!
what could possibly be better than that??
i mean, really.

 i am so blessed!
thank you, Cathy!

with this added to my stash,
i have plenty to keep me busy in 2011.
wouldn't you say?
please shoot me if i mention
that i need to buy fabric!
other than specific fabric
to finish something, that is.
