What's a Girl To Do?

I went to the doctor today for a recheck on my pneumonia.  I've been very discouraged because I have no stamina.  Which is all a part of pneumonia...but still.  I'm just so tired of being tired.  Ya know?  And, it's not even really being tired...not sleepy tired.  Just plain fatigued.  There's not much I can do, especially when I'm supposed to rest.  I can sit and sew, though.  For little increments of time.  But, I even need to take a break from that, for pete's sake.

Anyway.  I had chest radiographs taken, and they looked better than the ones that were taken a month ago.  So, that's the good news.  The bad news...well, it's not really bad news...but the other news is that my doctor is not releasing me for work.  Yet.  I go back for another recheck in two weeks.  I will probably be released for work at that time.

In the meantime...what's a girl to do?  Well, how about if this girl starts a new quilt?  Yeah.  I've been thinking about a sampler quilt...and the Denyse Schmidt fabrics have been calling my name.  So.  That's what I did.  Started a new quilt.  Today.

I had seen this quiltalong - Summer Sampler Series - but was in the midst of planning my 'Christmas in August' projects (this was before I had pneumonia), so didn't want to take on another project.

But now?  Heck, yeah!

There are twelve 12" blocks in this quilt...I will probably make 16, though, so the quilt finishes at a larger size.  I'm using Kona solid in Snow with the Hope Valley fabrics.

Here are my first 3 blocks...

The Star of Virginia...

Greek Cross...

Mosaic...

That's all I have for now.

Must feed the pups.

Have a good evening!

Jacque, Glad to read you are on the mend even if it is one baby step at a time. Hang tough kiddo, you'll get there. I actually got my flu shot today, better safe than sorry. Get well soon, blessings, Julie.

Well glad you got good news but I am sorry you still are so tired, but you tired is amazing to me because you get work done sick that would be a really busy day for me.
I don't know how you do it.
I love each one of those blocks they are just fantastic.
Well, get better soon,

Please continue to take care of yourself. It's no fun having no stamina, but at least you are getting things done a little at a time! LOVE that mosaic block!

Oh Jacque - so sorry you aren't feeling 100% yet - but on the other hand I am thankful you have your quilting - can you image if you didn't have any hobbies - you'd probably be going bonkers if didn't have that! Hope each day brings you more energy!

You really need to REST more!
I can't stand not being busy but sometimes we just need to do nothing in order to get better. Very nice blocks for this quilt!
