Laying It All Out...

I've started laying out
the pieces of the sunshine quilt.
Of the 16 fabrics in this quilt,
9 of them are medium value.
It's taking some work to place them, for sure!
To have contrast between the pieces,
I'm working with values
as well as patterns of the fabrics.

Here's what I have so far...

What do you think?

I think that there are a few pieces I could move...
but you know how that goes.
Move one.
Move another.
And another.
And so on.
So, I'm leaving this.
For now, anyway.

What I show here is taking up my entire 'design wall'.
Gonna need to figure out how to lay out the rest of it.

It's a 3 day weekend, so I'm hoping to get a lot done on this.

What do you have planned for the next 3 days?

Ohhh, I love the colors of this quilt. Can't wait to see the finished piece. I just got my tote in the mail today!! So awesome. I love it!

What am I doing this weekend? Well, we're putting an offer on a house...not in Maine, but in New Hampshire. It's on the line, so close enough to the new job!

Have a super weekend!
Hugs,
Courtney

Those colors look beautiful together and with the hexagons, it is really stunning and a bit of sunshine.

How bright and cheery your lap quilt is going to be, a bit of cloth sunshine! I am sure it will put a smile on your dear friends face. Have a great weekend and looking forward to viewing the quilt upon it's completion! Blessings from Maine, Julie.

This sunshine quilt is coming along fabulously! I did stare at it to see about moving a piece... and your right... a chain reaction of moving one would keep you there for days! Yesterday was yardwork for me... today will be some laundry and stitching... tomorrow all day stitching!
