The Wool Gatherer...

I will be sorting through my woolens this weekend and will be putting them up for sale.

See these 9 totes?

They're not all completely full, but there is a lot of wool in them!  My grandkids may be coming this weekend, so I'm going to enlist their help in sorting through it all.

I'm not sure how I'll sell the woolens...in lots or bundles or fat quarters or what.  My goal is to empty these totes and get the wool out of the house.   I have put aside the woolens I'll be needing to finish the two rugs I really would like to finish.  Those two being 'Fruit of the Spirit' and my big a** star rug.

If I get really ambitious, I'll go through patterns and books and rugs and put them up for sale, too.  Oh, and how about some of my dyeing stuff, too!  huh.  I guess I'll be spending a lot of time on this project, but it really needs to get done.

I plan to give you, my faithful blog readers, first dibs by posting everything here.  If no takers, I'll move it over to my etsy shop.

I'll let you know how it's going.

Are you done rug hooking? That's sad ~

Cool Beans Jacque - Can't wait to see what you have.

About how to sell it - it's hard to say - maybe the new wool in quarters or halfs and maybe if you have more of the thrift type of wool or whatever maybe in bundles????

You have become quite the prolific quilter!!! Glad you found something that makes your heart sing! I miss your rug hooking, though. Glad to hear that you'll be finishing your big a** star rug. It is so beyond gorgeous!

Looks like you have your work cut out for you this weekend. But, I can see that you need to make room for more quilting fabrics! LOL! ;-)

Maybe you should pull a few loops on your big rugs in progress before selling off your stuff? I know your passionate about the quilting... but maybe you still have the bug for hooking too... ?

Tell me it isn't so!!! You're getting out of the hooker business? I sure would like to see your big a** star rug again, even if you haven't pulled any more loops. I guess I'm just too lazy (or don't have the time) to go back and find it :)
I will be anxious to see what you have to sell!!!
Pug hugs :)

Just read my devotions this morning and it said to be content with what I have, then I come here LOL!! Not a way to wake up without coffee and then find there will be wool to be sold. Just give the poor girl a heart attack :).
Will miss your rug hooked pieces. You always did beautiful work. But I can see where your creativity and color has led you. Your quilting is amazing!!!
Will be checking back to see what you will putting up for sale :)

I am excited to see what you have for sale and to see the two works in progress. I think I have the same feeling/excitment for hooking as you have for quilting. We are twins. Just in reverse.lol. Hope you enjoy your weekend with the grandkids. Lisa

Oh my Jacque, I don't have time to hook or quilt anymore, but I still look at my wool and fabric.....this is a big step for you my friend! Do what is best!

I don't hook as much as I used to, but I keep what I have for future use, good for quilting too. If you ever want to do applique, wool applique is an easy way to make quilts without having to worry about edges, so something to think about when cleaning. Don't get rid of things you might be able to use later.

Your quilting passion is amazing! Beautiful quilts and I total can understand downsizing in another crafting area. I've been downsizing on fabric it feels good to let someone use it instead of storing it!

Jacque,
I'll be happy to help with your down-sizing as I still have a couple of your patterns to hook. But as with my riding equipment, I did not get rid of everything. You never know what tomorrow might bring!

I will stay posted. Just maybe viewing your offerings will give me the inspiration I have been looking for to begin hooking again. Is your focus now mainly quilting? I do love your quilted creations. Have a great weekend!
