Kaylynn at the Fair...and Progress.

Kaylynn starts kindergarten this year.

I cannot believe it!

I haven't seen her for awhile.
Her last visit was scheduled
when I had pneumonia,
so we canceled it.
With school starting and all,
it'll be a few more weeks until I see her.

I called her on Friday
and I'll talk with her again on Tuesday,
to find out about her first day of school.

Kaylynn's Mom sent these photos today.
They went to a fair...
looks like Kaylynn had a good time.

 She makes my heart sing.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have a dilemma.
I ran out of thread.
I'm 1/2 done with the Kashmir quilt.
Cannot believe I didn't check
to make sure I had enough!
(and remember, I was at the quilt shop yesterday!)
I'm on a (self-imposed) schedule, here.
With tomorrow being Labor Day,
I won't be able to get more until Tuesday.
Bummer.
I wonder if I could trim the quilt
and put the binding on the half that's done?
So I could start the hand-sewing.
There wouldn't be any wasted time that way.
What do you think?
I cannot think of a good reason not to do that.
Here's how the quilt looks thus far...
What a Beautiful girl...She's surly growing up before your eyes.
I found kindergarten the hardest. (to let go that is)...
The only thing I'd be worried about is the thread dye lot.
The colors in the Quilt are exquisite Jacque (as Always)...
Happy Labor Day!!!
Best Always
Jacque: my friend Helen always reminds me that we aren't going to Paducah! Do the binding and I am sure youwill match the thread no problem at all.
I love the quilt...cheery as usual.
Tomorrow, after Labour Day here in Canada, everything changes, there are fewer lights on the lake, and we are expecting rain for a few days, so I may get sewing done.
That Kaylynn sure is a bundle of energy!
I see no reason why you can't start on the binding. Just make sure you stay within about a foot of the unquilted part (for shifting?)... I'm no expert, but that is my thought! LOL!
Looks like Kaylynn had a lot of fun at the fair. Love the colors in that quilt it looks wonderful.
That's a great idea to walk the long driveway. Go for it Jacque! We just might inspire women all over to start walking the front and backyard areas of their homes!
i say go for the binding a while - Heck when i did my one really large rug (about 7x4) i was going away for a few days and it was doesn't being hooked at one end but took it and did the binding as far as a I could go! Actually it was nice since it wasn't all "finishing" at once! Quilt looks wonderful. Kaylynn is surely growing up !
Jacque ~
Kaylynn is just too darned cute. My grandson Jake started kindergarten last week. When I asked him how his first day was and what he learned, he told me her learned to walk down the hall with his hands behind his back and to be quiet! Out of the mouths of babes.
Pug hugs :)
