How Many Parts Will It Take to Catch Up...Part Two.

Wow, would you look at this...here I am again...so soon!  Woohoo!

Now, just where was I?

OH!  I made one final pineapple block...

The small square in the center is from yardage that Joanne (see the fabric here) gave me years ago...I had made Tag a quilted pad with it.  This little square was about all I had left.  The Chocolate Puppy. Tag.

Okay, now let's move on... to more family news.  Two of my nephews (hmmm, I guess they are my only nephews) had babies within the last few months.  And, both of those nephews are in service to our country!  Proud of them!

Here is Baby Alex...

And, here is Baby Jackson...

How precious, hey?

Before the scrappy log cabin blocks and the scrappy pineapple blocks, I made this quilt.  Dana of Old Red Barn Co generously shared how she made her quilt like this.  I love it...and it's what got me on the scrappy quilt-making path.

I bought some succulents...love these babies!

I have shopped online and I have shopped at my LQS...and I have gotten gobs of fabric!  Some of it to finish up WIPs and some to start new projects with.  Ohboy.

Someday, I hope to have this all used up (she said, laughing hysterically!).

Well, I think that's all the most important stuff.  ~grin~

Perhaps, now that things are settling down, I'll be able to get back into the habit of writing a blog post at least once a week.  My hope, anyway.

I am on Instagram...kelonie is my user name.  I always post photos there.

Bye for now.  See ya soon!

Sometimes...

I know you've heard me say (write) that I wasn't going to purchase any more fabric.  I have enough to last for 2 lifetimes.  Truly.  However, sometimes...I see something that shouts, "buy me!" so loudly that it cannot be ignored.

I present to you, Doglandia by Peter Horjus for Blend Fabrics.  The moment I saw it, I knew I had to have some.

I mean...who could resist that brown dog??  ~grin~  Seriously!
(Course, the brown dog didn't come with the fabric, much to my chagrin.  Oh well.  I guess I'll have to make my own!)

I could not resist...so, I ordered some.

I have big plans for this.  I see embroidery, sewing and quilting...something to design that is totally me.  Perhaps it will be a wallhanging rather than a quilt.  And, pillows.  I want pillows.  I guess only time will tell how this will end up.  Course, I have a million other things to do first.  But, I had to get the fabric now...I really did not want to miss out on this fabulous fabric!

What 'million other things'?  Mostly all for my new business.

I am designating my other blog, The Chocolate Puppy as the official blog of my new business.  The making of Waldorf doll clothes and accessories.  I'm not sure I need a blog for that, but that's what I think is good to do right now.

I have a new Facebook page, too.  The Chocolate Puppy.  (what else?)  I tell you, my head is crammed full of plans and ideas!

Have I said lately how much I love retirement?

The Orange Quilt...

...is half quilted.

YAY!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The selling of woolens over at
is going well.
So far, I've sold 2/3's
of what I put up this past week.
Thank you!
Still some nice pieces left over there.
And.
I still have overdyed fat quarters...
4 totes full.
I'll be listing them in late July.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And, I lied.

Well, I didn't mean to lie.
On June 1, I posted that I had made my
last pre-retirement fabric purchase.
HA!
That didn't last long, hey?

Yeah, so I did.
I made another fabric purchase.

TYPE by Julia Rothman
for Windham Fabrics.

Who could resist this
collection of 7 fabrics?

Not me.

(Obviously.)

No set plan for them.

Yet.

They are for after I move.

As are many other things.

~grin~

WOOLENS FOR SALE!

I have finally finished listing all of the bundles of wool...30 of them.  Tomorrow, I will list the pieces of textured woolens that I have.

Go HERE to shop!

Thank you in advance.

What else did I do today?  A coworker has a special book of scriptures that she keeps in her purse.  She was showing me how worn it was getting...and asked if I would make her a little book cozy to keep it in.  So, I did that early this a.m.

I think she'll like it...

I'll be back tomorrow with more woolens on my other blog,
"The Chocolate Puppy".

 Have a good night!

Stitching & Car...

My car is fixed...YAY!
Wow, two weeks without a car.
It makes one totally dependent on others.
Rides to work.
Rides home...to the
Credit Union, grocery store, church & lqs.
I so hate to be dependent on others.
But, it's all good now.
whew.

I did get quite a bit of stitching done while waiting
for my ride home to be done working.
At least one hour every day.
I finished block one and started block two.
Here's my block one...

The design is drawn on
Kona solid cotton in the color Bone
and then backed with muslin.
So easy to stitch on.
Doesn't that floss look great?
It's a variegated...
I think I showed you before.
But, here it is, again.

Once I sew the fabric blocks together,
there will be more stitching
(on the sewn fabric blocks)
to finish out the trees.

Before I get there, though,
I need to do some commission work.
Scrub tops, totes and t-shirt quilt.

One more day of work.
I think I can get through it.
Have a great Friday!

For Sale...

For those of you who aren't aware of my selling blog...or even for those of you who are and haven't checked it lately...

I have some rug hooking books still available, a few Wool Street Journals (including one that is out of print), and just posted three cutter heads for sale.  AND, a few rugs that I hooked!

Click on The Chocolate Puppy over there to the right in my sidebar to go to my selling blog.

I am feeling better today.  Taking it easy...gave Tag a bath and am getting laundry done.  Also, I'm sorting through some stuff (hence, the cutter heads & rugs for sale), trying to get things organized for Christmas projects.

Other than that, nothing much.

Don't forget to check out my selling blog!
Have a great Saturday!

The Chocolate Puppy!

I started a new blog...a place to sell my rug hooking stuff!  'The Chocolate Puppy'...see the picture there in my sidebar?  Just click on that to hop over and see what is needing to move out of my house.

Oh. My. Gosh!  This is going to be a huge task...to weed through all of my rug hooking stuff!  Almost overwhelming.  Methinks I'll need to devise a really good plan before starting to sort through it.

For now, I'm going to put some rug hooking books up for sale.  If you're interested, please hop over to 'The Chocolate Puppy'.  My goal is to get this (mostly) done by this time next week.  So, please be sure to stop back often to see what else is being sold.  And, be sure to tell your friends.

Hope you're having a good weekend.  I'll be sorting, photographing, and measuring woolens.

Later on today, I'll have a photo of what I got accomplished this week.
